Join our team as an entry level Meter Reader

The Meter Reader is an entry level water utility worker, who is responsible for the data SWLCWPUD uses to bill its customers. The employee works closely with office staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of utility billing. 


Also participates in the manual labor associated with the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of water system, ensuring the continual production and delivery of high-quality water to customers. 


Summary of Duties:

  • Read water consumption meters and enter data into tablet
  • Inspect meters, report any problems, perform preventative maintenance or minor repairs 
  • Assist locating water services and water mains
  • Participate in routine system maintenance, including buildings and grounds maintenance


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Oregon driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to operate and maintain power tools
  • Ability to operate and maintain vehicles and equipment, ability to load and haul equipment on trailers
  • Communicate effectively and follow verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform Stand-by Duty on a rotating basis


Schedule: 40 hrs/wk ( M-F 7:30am - 4pm)

Salary: $25/hr DOE
